Surprisingly, most of audience was Canadian and other nationalities. As ONE OK ROCK concert was mostly Japanese, I thought Next Music From Tokyo volume six would be the same.
Even though in Toronto, I could find some Japanese while I was taking pictures, didn’t see any Japanese during event in Montreal. Personly, every audience was really excited and seemed to go crazy for each band performance.
This time, five bands; Kinoko Teikoku, Uchu Conbini, Jizue, Happy!mari, and Nayuta performed during event in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. I have participated in this event as mostly reporter staff until Montreal concert like from a rehearsal to the end, so could not only make sure and listen to their band music through the event, but also could realize their personality side as talking with them for awhile.
Kinoko Teikoku has performed at this concert for two years straight. When they were preparing guitar, amplifier and so on, audience sang their song together suddenly, which Sato is part of vocal and guitar, was singing in order to make sure to her own voice and a her mike with personal assistant.
During Uchu Conbini’s performance, everyone is included staff listened to their song and sound carefully and quietly. Daijiro is part of guitar, his play have impressed to audience and made them even more excited. I felt just amazed that even though we are almost same age like twenties, they aren’t afraid and scared to play.
I felt that audience response to Jizue was the biggest especially second day at Lee’s Palace. It is like for instrumental music and their magnificent playing that touched our hearts. By contrast, to Happy!Mari was also one of the biggest responses everywhere for rock band and their live performance that is overwhelming. I’m sure their both sound listened in person is much better than CD sound.
Nayuta was playing just cool performance and making great sound like alternative rock and then audience also respond to their music strongly. It was as if conversation is like ideal live. When I interviewed to them, it was really long like around over an hour. Their personalities of typical Osaka have ability to attract people. I’m one of them as well actually. It absolutely appears as music and sound.
One thing, I want to complain about crowd surfing called “dive” in Japan during concert. Crowd surfing can make concert much more exciting at just timing when we want to do. In other words, crowd surfing has two types are good way and bad way. A good way is that I said above. Someone who did it when song is quiet or slow rhythm and as if diving in the water that is annoying and can happen to make someone injured.
When I have seen performance among audience, found someone just did it and then went back behind. I was disappointed those kind of case that there is people who just want to dive the reason why just curious. Besides, sometime divers behave as if they are main character to stand on the stage. It’s very annoying for most people and audience doesn’t come to see them for sure. I think strongly they should stop doing it. I don’t know how every band is thinking about it and this is just my thought though.
Eventually, everything was awesome so far except for that kind of thing and I’m looking forward to seeing tour final in Japan of this event and holding next time event.
As well, I’m glad to be able to feel music can make good relationship with everyone this event so far.
