Japan’s Shikoku Island and Ottawa’s Can- Am League go head-to-head. There will be special Japan-themed programming for the games on July 1 and 3, like in this photo of odori dancing in the stands, from a game back in 2015. Photo credit: OJCA.
OTTAWA — Once again, a select team from Japan’s Shikoku Island Baseball League will be playing against the Ottawa champions of the Can-Am League this summer.
Games will take place at 1 p.m. on July 1, and 7 p.m. on July 2, 3, and 4 at the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park (RCGT Park) at 300 Coventry Road in Ottawa.
Why not come out to see a few entertaining ball games while enjoying Canada Day in the Nation’s Capital? Try a delicious Shikoku Dog while doing Awa Odori in the stands and wearing your throwback Asahi baseball cap. Special Japan-themed programming is planned for the games on July 1 and 3.
The Hampton Inn (100 Coventry), the Courtyard Ottawa East (200 Coventry) and the VIA train station are just a Vlad Guerrero Jr. home run away from the ball park.
