More than 13,000 people gathered at Otakuthon, a three-day convention of anime, manga, and cosplay in Montréal.
While the convention’s cosplayers always make for a good show another event stole the spotlight this year, but in a more traditional way.
Twenty young models took part in amazing Kimono fashion show at the 2013 Otakuthon Anime Convention. These models wore Japanese casual Kimono called “Yukata” on location at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on August 18th.
They walked the catwalk to the tune of “Tsuki no Mayu” , which is the ending theme song from the popular ∀Gundam（Turn A Gundam), and enthusiastic Japanese Anime fans were fascinated by the models who donned the elegant Japanese fashion.
The models wore Kimono of all different styles with various colourful, polka dotted, and flower patterned Yukata and four Kimono wedding dresses created by designer Anne de Shalla. Anime fans applauded the spectacular performance. The Kimono Show staff is currently putting together a video that will showcase the event and we will update this story once it becomes available.
