Over the weekend, Nikkei Voice was invited to participate in The National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada exhibition at the Canadian National Exhibition.
It was a great chance to meet other members of the council and experience the diversity of Canada’s press all in one spot. There were also a number of speeches from some amazing speakers including Trinity-Spadina New Democratic Party Member of Parliament Olivia Chow.
“You are bringing news to some of the Canadians who cannot read English or they choose to listen or read other kinds of news,” said Olivia Chow at the event. “You are doing it not because of financial rewards, you’re doing it because you believe that you are the connection between the news, what’s happening, and to the people who you want to tell,” she said.
The booth will be open until September 2nd. There are also free copies of the Nikkei Voice at the booth, so if you’re at the CNE drop by and check out the best Canada’s ethnic press has to offer.
